Was the Live in Lincoln development affected by the September and February earthquakes in Christchurch?
The land has been checked by Aurecon, engineers for the development, post the September and February earthquakes.  They have confirmed that there is no damage and that the site has low susceptibility to liquefaction and lateral spreading.  You can download a copy of the geotechnical assessment from Aurecon here.

 


How big will the development be?

118 hectares, measuring 1.8km at its widest point.

 


What is the expected population of the village?

2,700 - 3,000

 


How many houses will be in the village?

800 - 900

 


What type of housing is available?
The development will feature a range of housing types, from standard residential to retirement housing and lifestyle homes.

 


Will the new community have shops?
The existing Lincoln township is a 10 minute walk and is well served by a wide range of retail, hospitality and service outlets.

 


Will there be design restrictions on the housing?
There will be moderate restrictions that ensure all building materials are harmonious with the environs. Large, dangerous dogs will also be restricted.

 

When will the village lakes be completed?
December 2010.

 


Will people be able to go boating and fishing

in the lakes?
Boating? No. Kids fishing? Yes.

 


How far will children have to walk or cycle
to school?

Preschools, primary and secondary schools are
all a 10 minute walk and Lincoln University is adjacent to the site.

 


When will home building begin?

Construction of the first homes is expected to
begin in late 2010.

 


What will Stages 2 and 3 include?
A larger array of section sizes and large
neighbourhood parks.

 


How many walking and cycling tracks will
the village have?

The village design features a network of 25 kilometres of walking tracks and at least 20 kilometres of on-road and off-road cycleways.

 


Will the village include a public transport
system?

The masterplan includes wide streets and bus bays
that will allow the possibility of a full bus service
in the future.
